I am writing this after a week of using it. I had previously used the Citizen Coffee Maker for about 20 years (three of them in that period). I had also gifted a couple. That is no longer produced or sold since the manufacturer closed down during the first wave of Covid.
This is an exact replica. I suspect that this manufacturer is sourcing it from the original source for the Citizen machine in China.
This is the machine for South Indian coffee lovers. Almost all others are for the black coffee lovers and they make cupfuls of decoction. This machine makes decoction even for one person with as little as 25 ml of water. South Indians know that for their coffee to be thick and flavourful, there has to be as little decoction as possible in the coffee, the rest made up by milk without any water added. This machine makes it possible. For a single cup or two this machine is ideal. This can also make upto 5 cups of thick/thin decoction.
I had bought and returned two machines of other makes which couldn't make less than 150 ml of thick decoction. I attempted 50 and 100 ml in them but they came out watery.
The fifth star is absent because one of the four legs of the machine is shorter than the others by a couple of millimeters but that doesn't affect the quality of the coffee. That is why I did not return or ask for replacement.
