I was inspired to purchase this product a few days ago right after I cut my finger on a mandoline.
Me: I cut my finger in the kitchen
Urgent care med tech (without even looking): on a mandoline?
Me: Yes
So, this arrived yesterday. It was easy to assemble, it stuck to the counter well, and it easily sliced 5 pounds of beets, carrots, radishes, and turnips. I had to quarter the really thick ones first and it only slices to one thickness, but it was fine. Also, I didn't cut my finger! (Although I probably still could if I were careless, especially when washing it, so always be careful.)
There were aboutt a dozen of these on Amazon that all looked the same, and I picked this brand by eenie meenie miney moe. No regrets. The blade or the suction cup might wear out eventually, but the cost to replace is still better than cutting my finger again. I might get really excited and grate some cheese later on.
