This is a very useful tool from a security point of view.

Looking at hammer pointy edges this can break car glass and belt cutter looks fine

So far I have tested this glass breaker only on random glasses. Luckily there was not a single change to use it as intended by the designers. But of course it is a must in the car from safety point of view

We had a really nice tool but someone broke into our car and stole it. So we replaced it with this model. When we first got it, it was very difficult to remove from the holder. In an emergency, that would be a detriment, so we just threw the holder away; as it was extremely difficult to remove from there. Someone who left a review gave it one star because they said it was not to be used on newer car windows. That is doubtful. This tool is not to be used on the windshield, as those are not meant to shatter with force. This is only to be used on the side windows (or in the back windows I suppose, but not the windshield. We have not tried it to see how it works, but we are hopeful that it will. It isn't as comfortable as our other tool, but in case of an emergency, you just want something that works. Hopefully, the plastic will hold up. It doesn't look beefy but that could be perception.

Last night a drunk driver smashed into my neighbors 3/4 ton pickup parked on the side of the road and moved it about 30 feet, she was unresponsive and bleeding, all car doors were locked. The car started to fill with smoke, I had my girlfriend grab my emergency bag, which also had this tool in it. She came to and mumbled she couldn’t breathe, she was thrown to the passenger side of the car. I used this to break the rear drivers side window and get into the car with her, instructed her not to move her neck in case she had a neck injury. This held up and did it’s job, got chewed up from the glass, so don’t expect it to last several uses but it served its purpose. Works well and was able to break the glass and get the door open with a few swings and pulls.

Thanks god haven’s used it that’s good. Built looks good. Only problem is that I don’t like amazon use the brand name amazon basic. They could come up with just a simple logo or name like Ikea. What’s the point of showing it like name “amazon basics”. They could come up with any name and in product details they could write that made by amazon basics. Anyway. Being brand couscous I would prefer simple beautiful brand names like Ikea Starbucks H&M rather these kind weird look designed amazon basic. Just look how simple clean Ikea keep their names on the products. I know amazon may not publish their review but they can use and think over it. They are paying their MBAs to design products brand names and they end up these weird names not a good idea.
